EXCELLENCE AND CRAFTSMANSHIP BY MASTER THATCHER TOM
Culm, Otter, Exe Thatchers are proud to provide the highest quality craftsmanship to thatched home owners across Devon.
Tom learned to thatch in Hampshire where, after he undertook a traditional thatching apprenticeship, he worked under another master thatcher for 8 years, mastering his trade and gaining valuable experience in all types of thatching.
Culm, Otter, Exe are all about crafting and maintaining the character of thatched properties, ensuring they use the best quality materials available, combined with their years of experience to create long lasting, beautiful thatched roofs.
Devon roof thatching company Culm, Otter, Exe is owned and run by Master Thatcher Tom Kimber and his wife Jade. This family-run thatching business is based in the quaint village of Kentisbeare, near Cullompton in Devon. Tom and Jade moved to Kentisbeare in 2015, quickly establishing an excellent reputation in the area by providing a reliable service at a competitive cost. Tom hopes to one day pass the family business on to one of his children, Henry, Austin and Martha.
Whether you're looking for domestic home re-thatching, new build house thatches, thatching repair work and replacement, or special projects such as thatched summer houses or duck houses, we will be happy to help you!
We also survey thatches on properties that are due to be bought/sold to provide an idea of the remaining life in the roof and potential costs of repair or replacement, as well as conducting thatch surveys for insurance purposes.
As our name suggests, we can undertake thatch work and surveys in the Culm (Cullompton), Otter (Ottery St Mary) and Exe (Exeter and vicinity) valleys of Devon, as well as Sidmouth, Honiton, Tiverton and more.
